Life after The Bar

I haven't posted for awhile. I apologize to all my avid readers out there. All 2 of you (hi mom). I am sitting here in Hawaii right now, Oahu to be specific, on my sister's couch getting ready to go back to Kansas City in the next couple of days. We have had AN AMAZING vacation here. Oahu is so amazing and beautiful, and the people are so kind. I love it. And I love being here with my sis.

We flew out here two days after I took the Missouri Bar Exam. Let me just say... that was probably one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life. I would lit-er-a-lly rather go through labor 30 more times than do that again. It was awful. I studied ALL SUMMER, alone, in my bedroom, while my mom and Jon's mom, Jo, watched Ruby downstairs. Hours and hours and hours doing practice questions and essays and lectures and flashcards. Ugh. Gives me a headache just thinking about it. And then the actual exam... it was a massacre. Two, six hour days. The first day was MPTs (Multistate Performance Test... where we were given a fact pattern and the rules of law, then an assignment- such as write a memorandum or a client letter) in the morning and then essays in the afternoon. The second day was 100 multiple choice questions in the morning and 100 multiple choice questions in the afternoon. Around multiple choice number 175, my brain started to go a little fuzzy. I had to read questions over and over again just to comprehend what I was reading. Anyways... I hope I passed or I'm going to cry for a very long time. The results come back on September 15th at 5pm.

So now what do I do with my life? Play with my baby. I cannot wait to spend all day every day with my little squish. Seriously, she is my best friend. I'm still exploring some options in regards to what I will be doing when I have my license to practice, but it will definitely be in the area of family law. Right now, I'm leaning towards starting my own practice, but we'll see.

Jon, Ruby and I do have some exciting news to share (no, I'm not pregnant... although I can see the confusion with this pooch. Hey. It's only been 11 months since I gave birth to Ruby... 9 months on, 29 months off or something like that right???) but that will have to wait for another day.

Here's some pictures of my squish because why wouldn't you want to see them...

Cheers!
